Affliction Brand Ambassador finishes the BOSTON MARATHON

Posted on 27 April 2016

ADAPTIVE ATHLETE AND AFFLICTION BRAND AMBASSADOR JOSE LUIS SANCHEZ COMPETES IN THE BOSTON MARATHON AND FINISHES AS A TRUE INSPIRATION! The Boston Marathon, the world's oldest marathon took place Monday (Patriot’s Day) and Affliction brand ambassador and Retired US Marine Jose Luis Sanchez was on the front lines running alongside three thousand participants who qualified to enter this legendary race. Critically wounded by hostile fire while on patrol in Afghanistan, Jose lost his leg and was given a prosthetic. He immediately fell into despair, but Jose found a way to keep his drive alive and fought his way back to health and strength, the culmination of his training bringing him to the starting line in Boston. His mission….to be an example to others struggling to overcome adversity. Jose is an inspiration to all and Affliction is proud to call him part of the family. FACEBOOK LIVESTREAM OF JOSE CROSSING THE FINISH LINE

Crossing the finish line Other press: MILITARY ID OOYUZ ACTIVE Jose’s words: Boston was great. The energy and love was outstanding. Up until race day I had been nervous and scared of failing. I couldn’t enjoy my time or let loose because I knew I still had to face this challenge. After I hit my 13 mile mark the pain in my legs became present, but all the love and support I had leading up to that point allowed my spirits to run high. I was able to embrace the pain and finish strong. Most Emotional race I have run to date. We finished strong! The press was all good. Phone interviews were great, but working with Taylor from the Boston Globe was FUCKING AWSOME!!!!
